Printable guide
Use this free printable graph paper generator to create semi-log graph paper for exponential growth and decay analysis. Choose your preferred grid style and download a ready-to-print PDF in A4 or US Letter format.
Semantic hook
This semi-log graph paper in Legal format is ideal for exponential growth and decay analysis. For example: A biologist graphs bacterial population growth on semi-log paper, where the logarithmic y-axis shows exponential increase as a straight line for easy trend analysis.

FAQ
Semi-log graph paper has one linear axis and one logarithmic axis. It is used for plotting exponential growth (population, compound interest, viral spread), exponential decay (radioactive decay, drug clearance, capacitor discharge), Bode plots in control systems, and frequency response analysis.
The y-axis is logarithmic by default — this is the convention for plotting exponential growth and decay against time. For Bode plots and frequency-response charts, where the logarithmic axis is conventionally horizontal, switch it with the “Logarithmic axis” control (or add ?logaxis=x to the URL).
Exponential functions (y = A·e^(kt)) plot as straight lines on semi-log paper with logarithmic y-axis. The slope of the line equals the exponent k divided by ln(10). This makes semi-log paper ideal for identifying exponential growth or decay rates from experimental data.
About
Semi-log graph paper has one linear axis and one logarithmic axis. It is the standard choice for plotting exponential growth and decay, including population trends, radioactive decay, and financial compounding. The logarithmic axis compresses large values while the linear axis preserves equal spacing for incremental data.
Semi-log graph paper has a logarithmic scale on one axis and a linear scale on the other, so exponential growth or decay plots as a straight line.
